Outstanding Composer Ennio Morricone Passed Away
Baku / 06.07.20 / Turan: On July 6, the prominent Italian composer, arranger and conductor Ennio Morricone died on the 92nd year of life, Italian media reported.
He mainly wrote music for films and television. He was Cavalier of the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit for the Italian Republic, winner of two Oscar awards: for outstanding achievements in cinema (2007) and for best music to The Abominable Eight (2016), 9-time laureate of the Italian national film award, three-time winner of the Golden Globe award, 6-time winner of the prize BAFTA and many others.
Ennio Morricone is one of the most famous composers of our time and one of the most famous film composers in the world. Over his long career, he wrote music for more than 400 films and television series in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, and the USA.
Morricone's most memorable work is the music for the film Once Upon a Time in America.
Twice in his career he starred in films for which he wrote music, and in 1995 a documentary was shot about him.
In January 2014, the maestro, along with a symphony orchestra, gave a concert in Baku as part of a world tour. -02B-

Ahmet Güneştekin answered questions from Turan Information Agency a few days after the opening of his solo exhibition, Lost Alphabet, held in the 8,000-square-meter indoor halls of the Feshane Cultural Center, managed by the Istanbul Municipality. The exhibition, inaugurated by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, will remain open until July 20.
