Seventieth anniversary of legendary Anatoly Banishevsky
On February 22 would be 70th anniversary since the birth of the legendary football player Anatoly Banishevskiy. His name is associated with the glorious pages of Azerbaijani football. At the age of 20 Anatoly Banishevsky made an important contribution when in 1966 the Baku "Neftchi" team won the bronze medal. The same year at the World Cup for football in London Banishevsky became the bronze medalist in the national team. Strongest clubs of the former Soviet Union invited Banishevsky, but he remained loyal to the home team. He was the only player of "Neftchi", a member of the "Fedotov Club" including players who scored more than 1000 goals in official matches of the USSR championships and cups, international matches. Banishevsky untimely passed away on December 17, 1997. Today representatives of the football society of Azerbaijan visited the grave of Banishevskiy.
At an impromptu meeting at the grave of the prominent footballer the heads of the AFFA, FC "Neftchi" Banishevsky’s colleagues appreciated his contribution to the development of football in Azerbaijan, and exchanged memories.-05D06-.

On November 28 at 5:00 PM, the opening ceremony of Ukrainian Film Days will take place at Landmark Cinema in Baku. The event is organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan. From November 28 to December 1, residents of Baku and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to watch a selection of the best films by Ukrainian filmmakers.
