The historical part of the city of Sheki will be cleared from unnecessary buildings
By the order of the President, the status of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Yukhari Bash", covering the ancient part of the city of Sheki (350 km north-west from Baku) has vbeeb raised. There are numerous mosques and minarets, caravanserais and craft shops, museums and other buildings of historical significance. The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to prepare proposals, "the adaptation of buildings that violate the street network and the planned configuration of the reserve " Yukhari Bash" prejudicial to its architectural value and style."
The Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Environment, the National Academy of Sciences and Sheki Executive Power are entrusted to prepare and submit within two months proposals for the preservation of the natural landscape and the landscaping of the city of Sheki. -02D-
