Suicide, murder, accident? - relatives about the death of Bayram Mammadov

Baku/05.05.21/Turan: The cause of the death of the activist Bayram Mammadov – whether it was suicide, an attempt or an accident-will be determined by the investigation, Elgiz Gahraman, a friend of the deceased, a member of the board of the NIDA movement, said in the program "Difficult Question".

According to him, the Turkish police have not yet been able to establish contacts with the Azerbaijani Embassy and the Consulate General in Istanbul. Gahraman said he asked several questions to the police, but was told that they could only give such information to Mammadov's family and his relatives. Gahraman himself is not inclined to believe that Mammadov committed suicide.

Another guest of the program, also a NIDA activist Ulvi Hasanli, also believes that an objective investigation can give an accurate answer about the cause of death. If any questions remain, it will increase the suspicion of murder. Everyone knows that Bayram was an ardent opponent of the Azerbaijani authorities.

At the same time, he noted that the forensic medical examination of Mammadov's body and its delivery to Azerbaijan may take several days or a week.

Communication with Mammadov ceased on May 2. Yesterday, his comrades contacted the Istanbul police. It turned out that Mammadov's body was found in the sea on May 2.—06D-
