Why is not the government showing interest in the investigation of the "Terter case"?

Baku/08.12.21/Turan: On December 7, family members and relatives of prisoners in the "Terter case" tried to hold a protest in front of the Presidential Administration demanding a review of the case. Reinforced police squads and the Interior Ministry's Rapid Response Regiment blocked the way for the protesters to the presidential administration building.  The police asked the protesters to designate two representatives who would go to the Presidential Administration. But they were not allowed in there.

“We just wanted to convey the complaint to the President of Azerbaijan, but we were not allowed into the building of the Presidential Administration,” said one of the protesters.

Why was the action prevented? Why is  not the government showing interest in the investigation of the "Tertear case" fabricated by the command of the Armed Forces and the Military Prosecutor's Office. The fact  is that in accordance with the task set by the commander-in-chief in April 2016, the army was supposed to liberate part of the occupied territory in the north of Karabakh. The special forces completed the task. However, by order of the high command, army reinforcements did not arrive at the commandos to take positions. As a result, about a hundred special forces were killed under enemy fire. The  motives of the betrayal of the army command has not yet been reported. To conceal their own betrayal, the command of the Armed Forces fabricated the so-called "Terter case". Hundreds of soldiers were forced under torture to incriminate themselves, admitting that they worked for Armenian intelligence. 11 people died, unable to withstand the torture. Thus, the real traitors in the Armed Forces tried to cover up the traces of their crime. The State Security Service solved this crime and reported it to the President. However, for unclear reasons, the perpetrators of treason and sabotage still remain in office, despite months of public exposure by victims of violence and terror.

The politician Sahib Karimli shared his point of view on this issue in the "Difficult Question" program.

According to him, the Azerbaijani authorities are not homogeneous, as are the Azerbaijani army and the Azerbaijani opposition. They include truly patriotic forces, as well as forces that are dependent on different geopolitical centers. Therefore, the "anti-popular wing" of the authorities tried to prevent yesterday's action, and the national (patriotic wing), created the conditions for its holding. Karimli is convinced that the rally was not dispersed precisely because of the "national wing". Moreover, according to him, the police near the entrance to the Icheri Sheher metro station created an opportunity for the protesters to express their opinion.

In support of his words, Sahib Karimli said that if the authorities wanted to prevent lawyer Ilham Aslan oglu from traveling around the country and recording videos with testimonies of servicemen who suffered during the "Terter case", then nothing would prevent them from doing so.

As for the reasons why the authorities do not initiate a new investigation into the "Terter case",  this is due to the new geopolitical situation, Karimli believes. –0—
