Another round of endless negotiations on WTO accession
Another round of talks between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) will be held in early June in Geneva.
Told reporters today, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mamedguliyev planned to conduct bilateral negotiations with India, South Korea and China on tariffs for goods and services.
"In addition, with Argentina and Brazil will be held bilateral talks on the subject of the size of subsidies to agribusiness sector of Azerbaijan," he said.
Recall Azerbaijan applied for WTO membership in 1997. After 10 years, there was signed the first bilateral protocol (with Turkey) to conclude the negotiations on accession to the WTO. In May 2008, an agreement was signed with Oman and the United Arab Emirates, in May 2010, with Georgia in 2012 - with Kyrgyzstan. Ready to sign is an agreement with Moldova.
Azerbaijan's President during a speech on the basis of economic and social development of the country in January-March this year said that joining the WTO is in the distant future. - 17D-
