Draft Law "On Public Procurement" discussed with ADB representatives
Baku/18.10.22/Turan: At the meeting held on October 17 in the State Anti-monopoly and Consumer Market Control Service under the Ministry of Economy with the representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) the sides discussed the new draft Law "On Public Procurement".
In this context, ways to improve the efficiency of public procurement tenders and the implementation of procurement operations were discussed, the press service of the anti-monopoly agency reported. Head of the State Service Mammad Abbasbeyli informed the ADB representatives about the activities of the agency, the reforms implemented in the field of public procurement and the ongoing "system measures" to ensure their efficiency and transparency. Also, he emphasized the role of ADB in the work aimed at improving the legislation in this field and adapting it to international practice.
Note that the draft Law "On Public Procurement" is being prepared for submission to the Cabinet of Ministers, the informed source told Turan.
The Law "On Public Procurement" is in force since 2002, which replaced the Law "On Tenders". In compliance with the amendments to the Law, electronic procurement by quotation surveys and open tenders are applied from 2019. -09D-
