In March, a record number of used cars imported
In March automobile companies were able to freely import used cars.
According to the decision of the Government on 1 April, Azerbaijan can import cars produced in the EU since 2005, in the United States - since 2004, in China and Japan - since 2011, in Korea - since 2006, in Turkey - since 2009.
In March, 9,349 cars were imported. In January, imports amounted to 6,477 vehicles and in February - 6,685.
According to the State Customs Committee, in January- March this year were imported 22,511 units of vehicles, which is 1132 , or 5.1% more than in the comparable period of 2013.
In the first quarter were imported 20,300 cars. This is 4.4 % higher than the volume of imports in the same period of 2013.
In March, imports rose sharply for trucks. In the first two months there were imported 894 units of trucks, but in March 1,058 of them were delivered. Compared with the same period in 2013, imports of trucks grew by 32.3% .
For the three months the country was supplied 120 buses and minibuses (minus 125 units ) and 134 special vehicles (minus 79 units ) .
Since April 1, Azerbaijan has applied the environmental standard for vehicles Euro- 4 . This will reduce the volume of imports of cars, experts say.
On January 1, 2014 Azerbaijan registered 1,232,600 vehicles. - 08D -
