Number of Tourists Visiting Azerbaijan Increased by 10.9%
In the first 9 months of this year Azerbaijan was visited by 1 million 719 thousand tourists. This is 169,400 or 10.9% more than in the comparable period of 2015. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on October 7.
The influx of tourists is mainly observed from Iran (up 62.9%), Kazakhstan (17.2%) and Russia (7.6%). In the first nine months a special pace of growth in the tourist influx was observed from the UAE - 34 times.
Only in the summer the regions of the country received 751,353 local and foreign tourists, 23.5% more than in the summer of 2015. -----08D
