Recent reports and interviews indicate a noticeable rise in tomato prices in Azerbaijan over the past few months, primarily driven by market monopolies rather than external factors such as fuel costs or weather conditions.

Azerbaijan's agricultural sector produced goods worth 6 billion 19 million manats in the first half of 2024, a 0.3% increase compared to the same period last year, according to a report by the State Statistics Committee (SCC). The report highlights a mixed performance across various agricultural segments, with livestock production seeing gains and crop production experiencing a decline.

On July 30, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved new regulations enabling taxpayers to access specific information about other taxpayers held by the tax authority, according to a decision guided by the eighth paragraph of Article 119 of the Constitution. This move is intended to implement subparagraph 2023 of the presidential decree dated December 5, 1033-VIQD, which introduced amendments to the tax code.

The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND) has announced the adoption of a new state standard, AZS 956:2024 "Chicken meat (chicken carcasses, chickens, broiler chickens and their parts): Technical conditions," aimed at addressing deficiencies in the country's poultry industry and improving production quality.
