The first premium this year for seniors over 100 years old
The first annual allowance was received by pensioners over 100 years old. Yesterday a group of senior citizens in this category met with the Chairman of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) Salim Muslimov.
The first benefit of this year (the average old-age pension is 168 manats) was transferred in a solemn atmosphere. According to the chief social officer, the insurance part of labor pensions in comparison with the beginning of last year increased by 4.5%, due to what the average pension amounted to 152 manat. The next step is the base part. In addition, reserves are being sought in the system of mandatory contributions, which will improve the social conditions of the population unable to work.
Muslimov said that, according to the latest data, the country has 776 pensioners (0.5% of total) over 100 years old. Of these 728 are women, and 48 are men. Retirees aged 90 to 100 years are 2,200 (1.5%).
In general, under the state fund pensions are received by 772 thousand elderly. Among them 61% are women.
According to the Center for Economic Research, the minimum consumer basket per worker Azerbaijanis as of January 1, 2013 is 172.48 manat. To pensioners it costs 154.64 AZN and to children up to 14 years old - 209.94 manat.
The basket does not include the costs of transportation, pharmacy, household and hygiene, not to mention winter clothing and utility spending. -17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
