Today Caspian countries gathered to discuss the sea bioresources
Baku/23.12.13/Turan : Today in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) opened the 34th session of the Commission on Aquatic Bioresources of the Caspian Sea. Azerbaijan at the meeting represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rauf Hajiyev.
The press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan reports that at the three-day meeting of government agencies the fisheries five countries continue to work on the harmonization of the draft agreement on the application of the moratorium on commercial fishing of sturgeon species . They will also discuss upgrading the status of the above-mentioned inter-ministerial commission to intergovernmental.
The session will discuss a number of issues on the agenda of traditional commission. Among them: the status of living aquatic resources and the total allowable catch limit sturgeon in 2014 , development of catch quotas for sturgeon hatchery and scientific purposes , as well as information about the protection of fish stocks in the sea.
The previous session of the Commission on Aquatic Bioresources of the Caspian Sea was held in April this year in Baku under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan in 2013 , as in previous years, could catch for scientific purposes 5 tons of fish with the condition of her returning to the sea. Measures are to ensure fish breeding plants can catch fish at their design capacities. 08B

Sources from two negotiation teams at COP29 reported to journalists on Tuesday, November 19, that the volume of the "New Collective Quantified Goal" (NCQG) for climate financing, being discussed this week in Baku, is unlikely to exceed USD 500 billion. This limitation is attributed to the negotiation stance of the U.S. delegation in light of the shift in power following the presidential elections in the United States.
