Wheat Imports Almost Halved
During the first 9 months of 2014 in Azerbaijan were delivered 676,000 tons of wheat, 510 000 tons less than in the same period last year.
According to the State Customs Committee, in the third quarter was formalized at customs 140,300 tons of wheat at a price averaged $ 234.4 per ton.
In one of the importing companies they told Turan, that in fact the volume of imports of wheat is much higher than the statistics: part of the imported goods handed over to the customs storage is not yet subject to declaration.
For the first nine months of 2013 the volume of wheat imports to Azerbaijan amounted to 1,186,700 tons. In the fourth quarter of 2013, imports amounted to 264 454.4 tons.
In 2013, the imported wheat was issued on the border at an average price of $ 272.3. During the first 9 months of this year, the figure was $ 255.1.
This year, two thirds (440 800 tons) of the declared wheat were supplied from Kazakhstan, and the remaining third (220 500 tons) - from Russia. --08B--
