Gazprom Opens Representative Office in Azerbaijan - Issue Coordinated by Board of Directors
Baku / 25.09.17 / Turan: The Board of Directors of Gazprom on October 2 in an absentia form will agree on the opening of a representative office of the Russian company in Azerbaijan, Interfax reported. The purpose of opening a representative office is not reported.
Gazprom supplied gas to Azerbaijan from 2000 to 2006. Then supplies were stopped in connection with the launch of the Shah Deniz field.
In 2010, Azerbaijan started gas deliveries to Russia. This gas was supplied to the Dagestan autonomous republic. In 2013 and 2014, Azerbaijani gas supplies to Russia were repeatedly interrupted in connection with repair work. In 2015, no deliveries were made. In 2015, there were attempts to adjust the supply of Russian gas to the Azerbaijan Methanol Plant (AzMeCo). Negotiations on the supply of Russian gas to Azerbaijan are also conducted with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). -06D--

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is launching the Leucipa monitoring program for the first time in the Caspian region to enhance production efficiency in the oil and gas industry, KOKAR reported. “SOCAR is implementing an innovative digital solution – the Leucipa monitoring program – to optimize processes and improve extraction efficiency. This initiative is part of a strategic collaboration with Baker Hughes. This project is a key part of SOCAR’s digital transformation strategy,” the company’s statement said.

The daily oil production, including condensate, in Azerbaijan in January amounted to 74.5 thousand tons (559 thousand barrels). Of this volume, oil accounted for 61.7 thousand tons (454 thousand barrels per day), and condensate – 12.8 thousand tons (105 thousand barrels per day), the press service of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy. Thus, Azerbaijan used 82.4% of its OPEC quota in January.
