
Azerbaijan reduces state budget deficit by 37%
In 2024, Azerbaijan's state budget revenues totalled AZN 37,164.2 million and budget expenditures AZN 37,719.7 million. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.
According to the data, this is up by 5.5% and 3.5% from 2023, respectively.
As a result, last year's budget deficit was 0.4% of gross domestic product, or AZN 555.5 million. This is down by 37.1 % from the previous year.
It ought to be noted that forecasts of revenues and expenditures of Azerbaijan's budget for 2024 were approved at the level of AZN 36,388 million and AZN 39,742.3 million respectively. Thus, last year budget revenues were executed by 102.1% and budget expenditures by 94.9%.
