Cairo and Amman rejected the policy of resettling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip
TASS: Amman and Cairo reject the policy of collective punishment against the Palestinians, including the idea of resettling them in Egypt or Jordan, and warn of the danger of such calls for regional stability. This is stated in a statement issued by the office of Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah al-Sisi following his meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan in Cairo.
"[The two leaders] stressed that they reject the policy of collective punishment, including the blockade, starvation or displacement of Palestinians from their territories to Egypt or Jordan, and warned of the danger of these calls for regional stability," the office said in a statement.
The leaders strongly condemned "the shelling of the Al-Ahly hospital and all attacks on civilians," and stressed "the need to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint on an ongoing basis."
According to the Petra news agency, during the talks in Cairo, the leaders of the two countries stressed that "the continuation of the war, the expansion of [military operations] and the aggravation of its consequences will lead to the fact that the entire region will be in a dangerous situation that could turn into a catastrophe for it."
