Macron canceled a trip to Ukraine for security reasons
РБК: French President Emmanuel Macron has postponed his two-day visit to Ukraine, which was supposed to take place on February 13-14, reports the French publication Challenges.
The Elysee Palace explained this decision for security reasons, the newspaper writes. The dates of the new trip have not yet been determined. Challenges notes that this was supposed to be Macron’s first independent visit to Ukraine since the outbreak of hostilities - in the summer of 2022, he came to Kyiv along with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and ex-Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi.
This time, Challenges writes, Macron was going to visit not only Kyiv, but also Odessa. A delegation of the French association of entrepreneurs MEDEF International was supposed to come to the Ukrainian capital with him. For them, the cancellation of the trip came as a surprise; Ukrainian diplomats also had questions because of this decision.
