Moscow / 11.12.17 / Turan: The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia planned from July 1, 2019 to introduce compulsory fingerprinting and photographing for all foreign citizens entering Russia for more than a month, TASS reported. Currently, an appropriate bill is being drafted, the Ministry"s press service reported.
The bill provides that a foreigner who has entered Russia on a visa-free basis, upon expiry of 30 days from the date of entry into the Russian Federation, has to notify the Ministry of Internal Affairs of his stay in the country. This should be done within 7 days.
Previously, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that for the year of 2016 26 thousand citizens of Central Asian countries who tried to enter Russia by other documents were identified using a fingerprint system. -02D-
