The first ship with agricultural products has entered the Istanbul Strait after the termination of the "grain deal"
Baku/18.08.23/Turan: The ship Josef Schulte, which departed from the port of Odessa on August 16, has successfully entered the Istanbul Strait, marking a significant development. Turkish media revealed that the cargo vessel is the first to traverse the strait carrying agricultural products since the discontinuation of the "grain deal."
By the evening of August 17, the ship had reached the Turkish port of Ambarli, located near Istanbul. The specific route taken by the bulk carrier has not been disclosed.
Earlier, Alexander Kubrakov, Ukraine's Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure, announced that the first vessel to utilize the temporary corridor in the Black Sea had left the port of Odessa. He clarified that the container ship Joseph Schulte is following the established route for civilian vessels.
Having been in the port of Odessa since February 23, 2022, the container ship Joseph Schulte embarked on its journey toward the Istanbul Strait with a cargo exceeding 30,000 tons, as reported by Anadolu. The vessel, flagged under Hong Kong, was noted for this accomplishment.
