The United States announced Iran's involvement in Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea
РБК: The US White House believes that Iran was “deeply involved” in preparing attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on commercial ships in the Red Sea, Reuters reports. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said Tehran provided the Houthis with the necessary intelligence.
According to Watson, "this is consistent with Iran's long-term material support and encouragement of the Houthis' destabilizing activities" in the region. He called what was happening a challenge “that requires a collective response.”
The Wall Street Journal, citing security sources, reports that the Houthis receive from Iranian paramilitary forces not only intelligence, but also weapons - drones and missiles. “The Houthis do not have radar technology to target ships. They need Iran’s help, without it the missiles will simply fall into the water,” said one of the publication’s interlocutors.
