Access to Internet, Phone of PFPA Leader Ali Karimli Blocked
Baku / 14.04.20 / Turan: On the evening of April 13, Internet access of the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Karimli was blocked. This happened after he was preparing to give an interview to one of the Internet channels.
At the same time, Karimli's mobile and landline phones were blocked. He is at home, and there is no connection with him.
The PFPA statement said the party urged citizens to adhere to quarantine rules and postponed all public events, officially announcing this.
However, pro-government media falsely claim that Karimli urged people to take to the streets.
“This is the government’s plan to discredit and isolate Ali Karimli. PFPA stands for a peaceful and democratic struggle,” the statement said.
Recall that in recent days the authorities arrested about a dozen PFPA activists on trumped-up charges of violating the quarantine regime, and there was also an assistant to Karimli among them. -03B-
