Accounts of Turan agency again blocked
Baku / 04.10.17 / Turan: The Ministry of Taxes sent to the banks, where Turan agency accounts are located, an order on seizure of incoming funds to pay off the tax debt of the agency.
This decision was sent to the banks after the agency announced the resumption of work on October 1.
A similar order was sent to the banks on September 5, but then it was canceled on September 15 after the Ministries of Taxes issued a decree on the absence of any debts from the agency. However, on September 18, the Ministry of Taxes again sent a notification to the agency about the restoration of the debt in the amount of 37,000 manats.
Against this background, on September 30 Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov "suddenly" told reporters that there are no problems for the work of the agency Turan, but he did not explain what caused this optimism.
It should be reminded that on August 7, the Baku Local Taxes Department made a decision to evade the agency from tax payments in the period from July 31, 2014 to July 31, 2017 for the amount of 26,907 manats and apply a fine of about 10,000 manats. The total amount of the claim to the agency was about 37,000 manats.
Already on August 8, the Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes under the Ministry of Taxes started an on-site inspection after the fact. In parallel with this, a lawsuit was filed against the agency, and its director Mehman Aliyev was arrested on August 24. On September 11, the measure of restraint was changed "about not moving to another place."
The agency recognized this decision as illegal and appealed to the Baku Administrative Economic Court No. 1 on 14 August. The court session was appointed only on September 27, and was held with the participation of the parties. The next meeting will be held on September 11.
Practically since August the financial and economic activity of the agency remains paralyzed. Employees of the agency since September 5 are temporarily sent to unpaid leave and partially continue work on a volunteer basis. -0--
