Adding in a group of Congress on Azerbaijan
On February 28 a Congressman Walter B. Jones joined the U.S. Congress Working Group on Azerbaijan. Thus, the number of group members has reached 62 , according to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington. A working group operating since 2004 plays an important role in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
On February 27 co-chairs Bill Shuster and Steve Cohen made statements on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
On February 27, Congressman Pete Olson also issued a statement condemning the massacres in Khojaly.
He also urged the U.S. government to increase efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of international law. –06D—
