ADWP condemns the increase in repression and demands the release of political prisoners
Baku/03.12.23/Turan: On December 3, the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party (ADWP) issued a statement in connection with the arrest of the deputy chairman of this organization, the host of Kanal-13 Internet television, Rufat Muradli.
The statement notes that after the arrest on July 23 of this year of the chairman of the ADWP, scientist-economist Gubad Ibadoglu, a new wave of repression against critics of the ruling regime unfolded in Azerbaijan.
Currently, the number of political prisoners has exceeded 250, the document further states.
Another victim of political repression was, who was administratively arrested on December 2. 30 days on far-fetched and absurd charges of “petty hooliganism” and “not obeying the police”, deputy chairman and member of the board of the APDB, presenter of “Kanal-13”.
ADWP demanded the release of all political prisoners, including Professor Gubad Ibadoglu.
The party, expressing protest against the “criminal repressive policy,” demands that the ruling regime respect the constitutional rights of citizens.—06B-
