Aliyev and Erdogan discussed Azerbaijan-Iran relations
Baku/27.10.21/Turan: Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed recent tensions between Baku and Tehran during their meeting in Zangilan.
Erdogan told reporters on his return to Turkey that the Azerbaijani leader had a principled and resolute stance on the issue.
"We have discussed this issue with Ilham Aliyev. The President of Azerbaijan does not retreat from his resolute position. He stressed that relations with Israel are not different from Azerbaijan's relations with other countries, and this will continue. The countries have no right to put pressure on each other over the decision-making mechanism," Erdogan said.
He expressed hope that "Tehran will act with common sense and there will be no problems in relations between Iran and Azerbaijan."-0-
