Anti-Western speeches by Rouhani and Maduro at the Baku Summit
Baku/25.10.19/ Turan: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, speaking in Baku at the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, accused the United States of hegemony.
The US is building up its military power and fueling conflicts around the world. “Despite the failure of these efforts, we must do everything to prevent US hegemony,” he said.
He also accused the United States of using economic advantage to achieve its political goals. Therefore, members of the Non-Aligned Movement can mobilize to solve problems and comply with international law.
The conditions for resolving conflicts in Syria, Yemen and other countries are non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, said Rouhani.
“Peace and free movement of ships in the region should be ensured by the efforts of the countries of the region,” the Iranian president said.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro dedicated his speech to criticism of "imperialism."
“The non-aligned movement should be strengthened and not allow any state to play the role of a policeman. We must prevent imperialist approaches in the world,” said Maduro.
He asked the DP countries to support Venezuela’s candidacy on the UN Human Rights Committee. “We must protect our countries from global forces,” he said.-06D-
