Azerbaijani border guards prevented an attempt of penetration of Armenian saboteurs - State Border Service
Baku / 04.24.22 / Turan: Azerbaijani border guards prevented an attempt to penetrate the territory of the country by an Armenian sabotage group. Baku regarded the incident as a provocation by the Armenian side in order to disrupt the creation of a bilateral commission on border delimitation.
On April 23, at about 18:00, a sabotage group of the Armenian Armed Forces made an attempt to cross the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the section of the border passing through the Zangilan region, the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan reported on Sunday.
“As a result of the measures taken by the State Border Service, the penetration of the sabotage group into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented, and the saboteurs were forced to retreat,” the press release says further.
The State Border Service regarded this incident as a "provocation by the Armenian side" against the establishment of a commission for the delimitation of the border between the two countries and the conduct of relevant work. Representatives of the border department of the Federal Border Service of the Russian Federation in Armenia were informed about the provocation by the Armenian side.
The State Border Service warned that if such actions were repeated, the Azerbaijani side would take more serious measures.—06B-
