Arrested MP withdrew his appeal
Baku/10.08.21/Turan: The MP Eldaniz Salimov, deprived of parliamentary immunity and imprisoned withdrew his appeal against arrest, said his lawyer Ilgar Aliyev.
The defense lawyer stressed that the complaint was withdrawn at the request of Salimov himself.
On August 3, the Milli Mejlis deprived Salimov of immunity on the proposal of the Prosecutor General and brought him to criminal liability under the Article 309.1 (abuse of office) of the Criminal Code.
According to the investigation, on July 29, the deputy beat a local police officer in the Stary Dvor restaurant in the town of Khachmaz. On August 3, the Binagadi District Court decided against Salimov a preventive measure in the form of an arrest for a period of 3 months. — 21B06-
