Astana Hosts Meeting of AWG on Status of Caspian Sea
Baku / 21.05.18 / Turan: A meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the preparation of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea at the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the coastal states will be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on May 21-24.
The meeting participants will discuss the preparation of the Fifth Summit of the heads of the Caspian Five, which should also be held in Astana, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.
The Azerbaijani delegation at the talks will be headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov.
The summit in Astana, which is expected to sign the Convention, was originally planned in 2016. However, the meeting time was repeatedly postponed, which is connected with the preservation of fundamental contradictions between the countries. Now, the Kazakh side is announcing the summit for the second half of 2018. -06D--
