Azer Gasimli Leaves REAL Due to Disagreements with Ilgar Mammadov
Baku / 06.11.19 / Turan: Chairman of the Mejlis of the Republican Alternative Party - REAL Azer Gasimli resigned from this post and left the party. He stated this at a press conference today.
Gasimli explained his decision by disagreements with the party leader Ilgar Mammadov. According to Gasimli, over the past 6 months the party has "weakened" the adoption of collective decisions.
Gasimli also expressed disagreement with the initiative of Mammadov to hold an extraordinary congress of the party and change the principles of formation of local organizations.
Gasimli accused Mammadov of an authoritarian style of leadership and the desire to establish unity of command.
In turn, Ilgar Mammadov a few days ago took the initiative to reform the party structure. He proposed the creation of local organizations geographically in each of the 125 single-mandate constituencies.
Mammadov proposes to abolish the Board, the Mejlis and the Control and Revision Commission of the party, establishing instead of them a single structure, conditionally called the Political Committee. The number of its members should range from 10 to 15, and during the election period - up to 125. The Committee will be elected at the congress, and may expand during the election period.
Mammadov believes that the chairman should not be elected by the congress, but by the Political Committee. —06D--
