Azerbaijan Amends Security Service Regulations
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the regulations governing the Security Service of the president, initially established by a decree in February 2021.
In accordance with Article 109, paragraph 32 of the Azerbaijani Constitution, the amendments were sanctioned through a presidential decree, reinforcing the legal framework of the Security Service responsible for safeguarding the president and ensuring national security.
The modifications to the “regulation on the Security Service of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan” were initially approved under the decree No. 1290 on February 19, 2021, and are documented in the legislative collection of Azerbaijan, 2021, № 2, Article 132 (Volume I).
The decree underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance the operational capabilities and legal structure of the Security Service in line with evolving security needs.
