Azerbaijan and Italy to expand military cooperation
Baku/31.10.23/Turan: Prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in the military and military-technical spheres were discussed today in Baku at a meeting of the chiefs of the general staffs of the armed forces of the two countries – Kerim Veliyev and Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Veliyev informed the guest about the significance of the local anti-terrorist measures held on September 19-20 in the Karabakh region.
Touching upon the large-scale reforms in the army construction in Azerbaijan, Veliyev drew attention to the importance of introducing new technologies in the Azerbaijani Army and the work done in the field of cybersecurity.
For his part, Dragone noted the existence of broad opportunities for expanding military cooperation between the two countries.
The sides stressed the need for further expansion of military cooperation based on the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy.
Prospects for cooperation in the military, military-technical, military-educational and other spheres, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest were also discussed. -06B-

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.

The United States and the European Union, which tried to position themselves as mediators in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, have come up with nothing and merely copied Russia's ideas, distorting their essence in order to "hijack" the peace process for themselves.
