Azerbaijan and NATO will ensure the safety of gas infrastructure
Securing the pipeline between the oil fields of the Caspian Sea and Europe will be one of the major directions of further cooperation between NATO and Azerbaijan said NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at a joint press conference in Brussels on Wednesday, 15 January.
It should be noted that from Azerbaijan in the European direction has already been formed gas pipeline infrastructure that goes through Georgia and Turkey, through which it is pumped about 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
It will be extended to 2018 for the transportation of gas from Shah Deniz field in the amount of up to 30 billion cubic meters per year. -0 -

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
