Azerbaijan counts on cooperation with the World Bank in the restoration of certain territories

European Council President Charles Michel is stepping up efforts to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan amid rising tensions in the region. According to the American edition of “Politico”, Charles Michel held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan during the European Political Community in London on July 18.

On July 30, four soldiers were killed off-duty in the city of Lachin, the Ministry of Defense told Turan agency. In particular, Captain Asif Emnaliev, Ensign Jabrailov Farid, overtime Sergeant Samadov Tural, and Sergeant Emin Shahmarli were poisoned while swimming in sulfurous thermal waters in the territory of the Lachin region. The leadership of the Ministry of Defense expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased servicemen.

The top Biden administration official in charge of Europe and Eurasia on Tuesday laid out Washington's efforts to help Azerbaijan and Armenia to independently finalize a peace agreement among themselves, which he warned that Russia was "trying to make sure that happens on its terms," TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.

On 31 July, new Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian received Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, who arrived in Tehran to attend Pezeshkian's inauguration.
