Baku/11.08.21/Turan: The remnants of the Armenian armed forces are not completely withdrawn from the territory of Azerbaijan where the Russian peacekeeping forces have temporarily been stationed as set forth in the trilateral statement of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation of November 10, 2020. This is emphasized in the report of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry dated August 11.

"Recent days are noted for Armenia's violation of provisions of the trilateral declaration, including the transfer of the Armenian armed forces to the territory of Azerbaijan where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, and the creation of new Armenian posts near the settlements of Mukhtarkend and Shushakend, as well as in the eastern part of the Kelbajar and Lachin regions," the Defense Ministry said.

The Azerbaijani army takes adequate measures to suppress actions of this sort. It is no mere coincidence that the Armenian side purposefully resorts to such provocations to aggravate the situation.

"All these occur against the background of the irresponsible and provocative order of the new Armenian Defense Minister, Arshak Karapetyan to use force against the Azerbaijani army. It should be reminded that the former Defense Minister of Armenia, David Tonoyan was best remembered for his provocative military doctrine - "a new war, new territories". His shameful fate is known to everyone. The Azerbaijani army is sure to all necessary adequate measures to get done with this", the document said.

"In accordance with the provisions of the trilateral statement, the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation should put an end to the deployment of the Armenian armed forces on the territory of Azerbaijan," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in its statement.—06D-
