Azerbaijan has no plans to become EU member - Ilham Aliyev
Baku/06.12.23/Turan: Azerbaijan's foreign policy concept does not imply the country's accession to the European Union. Head of State Ilham Aliyev stated this while addressing an international conference in Baku on 6 December.
"This is a very pragmatic approach and its reason is clear. We live in the real world, not in the virtual one. If we are not accepted there, why knock on that door and disgrace ourselves? We are in favour of cooperation and establishment of relations," Aliyev said.

Armenia is not against the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, but does not consider it appropriate to discuss this issue now. "In the context of peace, we consider it possible to make a decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When peace is an established fact, the existence of such a format may raise questions," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today. "The whole question is about the timing, we need to understand how effectively and correctly to turn such topics into a subject of discussion right now," the Armenian Prime Minister added.

He expressed his willingness to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the border between the two countries. "A meeting with Ilham Aliyev could take place at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. I am open to such a format," Pashinyan said at a press conference today. According to Pashinyan, Armenia recently presented another proposal for a peace treaty to Azerbaijan.

On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. All electoral campaigning is prohibited 24 hours before the voting. The early elections were initiated by the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. This decision was motivated by the overlap of the scheduled elections in November with the global UN forum - the COP20 climate conference taking place in Baku.

On August 30, at approximately 22:55, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant in Metsamor was disconnected from the country's power grid, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The shutdown was caused by a lightning strike, which triggered the plant's safety systems to switch the station to a safe shutdown mode. Currently, the plant's staff is working on restarting the facility.

Это идиотское самоличное решение. Надо хотя бы формальный референдум провести, а потом делать такие заявления. Дело в другом . Если подаешь заявку на вступление в ЕС, то берутся обязательства по демократическим реформам, что нашему деятелю очень не хочется😂😂😂

Demokratik ölkələrdə ölkə başçısı təkbaşına qərar vermir. Xalqın rəyini, referendum keçirmək lazımdır. Əlbəttə ki, bugünki siyasətlə özünə görə düz deyir , bu vəziyyətdə heç kim bizi qəbul etməz. Amma Aİ-na qəbul olmadan öncə Assosiativ saziş imzalanmalıdır, Gürcüstan,Moldova,Ukrayna imzaladığı kimi və həmin saziş əsasında ölkədə köklü islahatlar keçirilməli, demokratikləşmə prosesləri güclənməli, korrupsiyaya son qoyulmalıdır ki, bu da hakimiyyətin marağında deyil. Demək bu cür fikir söyləməklə hakimiyyət xalqın deyil , öz maraqlarını qorumuş olur. Bir də Aİ xristian klubudur deyan bir qrup insanlar var ki, bu fikir kökündən əsassız və cəfəng fikirdir. Çünki bu birlik dini təşkilat deyil , bu siyasi , iqtisadi birlikdir , demokratik ölkələrdə isə din dövlətdən ayrı sayıldığı üçün əsas diqqət demokratiyaya verilir. Türkiyə ilə kiçik Azərbaycanı müqayisə etmək düzgün deyil. Əgər dinlə meyar ölçülsəydi o zaman əhalisinin böyük əksəriyyəti müsəlman olan , 2009-cu ildən NATO-nun üzvü Albaniya Aİ-na real namizəd olmazdı . Türkiyəyə gəldikdə isə Türkiyə höküməti elementar öz şəhərinin adı ilə bağlı İstanbul konvensiyasını belə qəbul etmir ona görə nadan fikirlər söyləmək lazım deyil. Azərbaycan Avropa inteqrasiyasından üz çevirməklə xalqı bir çox imtiyazlardan , onun parlaq gələcəyindən məhrum edir.
