Azerbaijan provides Armenia with information about the attack on the border guard on 25 August
Baku/27.08.21/Turan: Negotiations on the opening of sections of the Goris-Kafan highway blocked by Azerbaijan have not yielded results yet. According to the National Security Service of Armenia, negotiations with the Azerbaijani side are being conducted with the participation of Russian border guards. Sputnik-Armenia reported this on August 27.
According to the same source, the State Border Service of Azerbaijan transmitted to the Armenian side the data on the attack on the Azerbaijani border guard at one of the border posts on the specified route. After that, the National Security Service of Armenia began operational-search measures to verify this information, the message says.
Sputnik Armenia claims that initially Baku insisted on the extradition of the Armenian soldiers who attacked and wounded the Azerbaijani border guard. According to Baku, the military was "wounded on their territory," and this was perceived as a sabotage. According to the Armenian source, the negotiations between the parties are extremely emotional.
It is possible that the investigative bodies of the parties will jointly investigate the incident on August 25, when the Azerbaijani border guard was wounded, after which it will be possible to talk about unblocking the road, the Armenian side believes.
It should be reminded that Azerbaijan blocked the Goris-Kafan highway on the evening of 25 August. The report of the Azerbaijani Border Service said that border guard Ruslan Shiraliyev had been wounded by a bayonet-knife by two Armenians. It was noted that the Azerbaijani side would take "adequate measures." - 02D-
