Azerbaijan to increase gas supplies to Turkey by 19% in 2023
Baku/04.02.23/Turan: Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Turkey in 2023 will amount to 10 billion cubic meters compared to 8.4 billion cubic meters in 2022, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on February 3. Of the planned volume, 3.5-4 billion cubic meters will be transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and 6.0-6.5 billion cubic meters via TANAP, informed source told Turan. In fact, Azerbaijan will cover 20% of Turkey's gas needs in 2023.
Turkey continues to buy pipeline gas from the Russian Federation, Iran, and buys liquefied natural gas from various sources (USA, Algeria, Qatar, etc.).
This spring, Turkey plans to start gas production (for the first time) - in the Black Sea Sakarya field, which will allow it to reduce imports, which annually took tens of billions of dollars.
"Knowing the fraternal relations between our countries, our cooperation (on supplies) will increase in the future", Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov said. ---0--
