Azerbaijan Unilaterally Suspends Military Operations
Azerbaijan took a decision to unilaterally terminate the fighting on the troops contact line in Karabakh.
The statement released around 13.00 on April 3 by the press-service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reports that in connection with the insistent appeals of international organizations and taking into account the peaceful policy of the Azerbaijani state, it decided to suspend unilaterally the counter-operations in response to the enemy. It was also decided to start implementing measures to strengthen the defense of the liberated territories.
Yesterday the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that during the fighting in the north-east of Nagorno-Karabakh the village Seysulan and the heights around the village Talish were liberated, as well as the height Lele Tepe in the south-east of Karabakh near the town of Horadiz.
However, it is noted that if the Armenian armed forces do not stop their provocative actions and continue to bombard towns and positions, the Azerbaijani troops, using all the means of weapons, will continue offensive operations to liberate the occupied lands in order to restore the country's territorial integrity.
According to the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Armenian side has violated the earlier agreement on the resumption of the ceasefire, which was reached on April 2 at 15:00 Baku time at the initiative and the mediation of the Russian Federation.
"Taking advantage of the fact that Azerbaijan complies with the agreement, Armenia has tried to regain its lost positions and the territories released from the occupation by bringing more military force to the region. As a result of this attempt, 10 enemy tanks were destroyed and the enemy suffered casualties," said the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan in the statement issued on Sunday around noon. -0-
