Azerbaijani and Russian Security Forces Conduct Border Operation
Baku / 13.06.18 / Turan: On June 4-10, law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan and Russia held joint complex operative-search and preventive measures in the border areas of both countries under the conditional name Border.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operations conducted in the border areas of Dagestan, as well as Gusar, Guba, Khachmaz, Zagatala, Sheki, Balakan, Gabala, Gakh and Oguz, 42 people on the wanted list were detained. Eleven of them were on the wanted list in the Russian Federation. Also found were four people who were considered missing. In addition, 54 people wanted for non-payment of public debt were detained.
The security forces seized 9 submachine guns, 1 machine gun, 6 pistols, 69 rifles, 36 grenades, 29 holders, 18 units of various military equipment and ammunition, and 5,700 cartridges of various calibers.
The law enforcers identified 19 facts in connection with drugs and destroyed 13,600 cannabis shrubs weighing more than 3 tons.
Fifteen crimes committed in the territory of the border areas were disclosed, the report concludes. -06D--
