Azerbaijani Armed Forces Begin Exercises Simulating Counter-Terrorist Operation
Baku/15.03.21/Turan: On March 15, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces began operational and tactical exercises with the participation of 10,000 servicemen, about 100 units of tanks and other armored vehicles, up to 200 rocket and artillery installations, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, up to 30 units of military aviation , as well as drones for various purposes, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The exercises are held in mountainous and wooded areas with difficult terrain, the main attention is paid to command and control of troops, bringing them to a state of combat readiness and regrouping, improving the coordination and interaction of combined arms formations, missile and artillery troops, aviation and special forces.
During the exercise, the troops will carry out tasks to combat terrorist groups, illegal armed groups and conduct counter-terrorism operations.
According to another report of the military department, command and staff exercises were also held in Nakhchivan, during which the personnel worked out the operational performance of tasks while bringing them to various degrees of combat readiness.
The exercises were conducted with the aim of improving the skills of commanders to make decisions in a short time in accordance with the prevailing tactical situation. -02D-
