In turn, Armenian sources confirm that this suburb of Khankyandi has come under the control of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
* On December 27, 1991, Armenian troops captured and burned Kyarkijahan, killing 34 people. By December 31, the Azerbaijanis managed to regain control of the village during a counteroffensive, but at the end of January 1992, the Armenians re-captured the village and completely burned it down.
