Azerbaijani Defense Ministry: No fire was opened in the opposite direction
Baku/25.05.21/Turan: The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has denied the message of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia about the death of a serviceman of this country as a result of shelling from Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has once again disseminated false information about the alleged shelling of positions by units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan on the territory of the Verkhnyaya Shorka settlement of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia from the territory of the Kelbajar region, reported the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that at noon on May 25, seven trucks of the armed forces of Armenia with personnel tried to approach the specified section of the border.
"As a result of the preventive measures taken by our units, the movement of the opposite side was prevented. We clearly state that our units did not open fire in the direction of the opposite side. According to the information at our disposal, the incident related to the death of an Armenian soldier was an accident. This event has nothing to do with the Azerbaijani side.
We inform you that the Azerbaijani side is in constant contact with the Russian side on this issue," the statement of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.-03-
