Baku and Ankara urge Yerevan to renounce hostility
Baku/27.01.21/Turan: Turkey, being a Caucasian country, should be actively involved in geopolitical processes in Azerbaijan, taking into account the principle of regional responsibility, said Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.
The development of Azerbaijani-Turkish economic relations is necessary, along with the opening of roads in the region. Armenia can take advantage of the opening the railway through Meghri, becoming, like Georgia, a transit state, and economic ties ensure peace in the region, Hajiyev said on January 27 during a webinar on Azerbaijani-Turkish relations.
“Our cooperation is not against third countries, just as the trilateral cooperation of Turkey and Azerbaijan with Georgia and Pakistan is not directed against other states,” he said.
Burhanaddin Duran, member of the Security and Foreign Policy Council of the Turkish Presidential Administration, noted that not being able to resist the Azerbaijani army, Armenia announced Turkey's military assistance to Azerbaijan.
Turkey supports Azerbaijan in all spheres and this was demonstrated to the world during the days of the Karabakh war. The latter was especially evident in the use of unmanned combat aircraft. In this regard, Turkey was under pressure from the whole world, but Turkey did not refuse to help Azerbaijan.
“The presence of the Turkish military in Karabakh after the end of the war is a reality that everyone must accept. Turkey is committed to ensuring security in trilateral relations with Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Armenia has two alternatives: the continuation of a hostile unpromising policy, or regional cooperation. The latter may seem difficult for the Armenians, but the 44-day war showed that there is simply no other way,” B. Duran added. -0-
