Baku keeps silence over possible delivery of Tor complex to Armenia
Baku / 22.05.18 / Turan: Two days after the Armenian media reported on the forthcoming delivery of Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems to Armenia, official Baku did not comment on this information. It should be noted that Moscow did not refute Yerevan's statement that the deliveries will take place in a few months.
After the first Russian military loan of $200 million, Yerevan received a second loan - $100 million.
In all likelihood, the deliveries of Tor M2 will be carried out within the framework of these loans.
This complex can simultaneously shell up to four targets at altitudes from 10 meters to 10 kilometers and at ranges up to 15 kilometers. The complex can fire on the move, and has up to 16 guided missiles.
The main task of the "Tor" is to cover the units of the ground forces in the course of combat operations. It can shoot down helicopters, airplanes, cruise and tactical missiles, air bombs.
According to the Armenian side, the appearance of Tor-M2 will severely limit the ability of the Azerbaijani side to use assault aircraft in case of resumption of hostilities.
Earlier Armenia received from Russia portable anti-aircraft complexes "Igla-S" and "Verba", which is aimed at neutralization of military drones, which showed themselves well during the April war of 2016.
It is noteworthy that the message about the delivery of the Tor complexes to Armenia appeared after Ilham Aliyev in Nakhchivan announced the presence of missiles capable of hitting any target in Armenia. -02D-
