Baku prefers developing bilateral relations with NATO and EU members than with the same structures in general - I.Aliyev
Baku/03.05.23/Turan: Azerbaijan maintains cooperation with NATO through Turkey, and with the European Union despite the absence of agreements with the two structures. President Ilham Aliyev told an international conference in Shusha on Wednesday.
"We have not signed an association agreement with the EU, but that does not mean we do not want an agreement with the EU. The proposed document is not an agreement but instructions," he said.
When it comes to the cooperation with NATO, "we are for the development of bilateral ties and cooperation with NATO countries and EU members. Strategic Partnership Agreements have more value than a mere Association Agreement," he said.
Regardless of the outcome of the elections in Turkey, the two countries will remain allies and there will be no change, Aliyev stressed. -02B-
