Baku urged UN countries to suppress activities of Armenian diaspora hostile to Azerbaijan
Baku/16.02.22/Turan: The report of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on "Armenia's misuse of non-profit and charitable organizations for corruption, money laundering and terror financing" was distributed as an official document of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council.
This is stated in the report of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The report says that during and after the 44-day war in Karabakh in the fall of 2020, the Armenian government organized in many countries through the Armenian diaspora structures illegal pseudo charitable campaigns to collect funds under the guise of humanitarian aid.
These funds were used to finance terrorist activities against the civilian population in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, the document says.
Thus, as underlined by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the Armenian diaspora organizations in 73 countries have collected donations of over $170 million of which $ 110 million were transferred to the state budget of Armenia to cover military expenses of the Armenian side.
Similar fundraising campaigns have been carried out by Armenian diasporas even after the signing of a trilateral statement by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on November 10, 2020.
Such activities are not only directed against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan but also grossly violate the legislation of the countries where Armenian diaspora organizations are registered, as well as international obligations on combating money laundering and terror financing.
The official Baku calls on all UN member states to prevent these illegal activities of the structures directed against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.-06B-
