Barack Obama Congratulates Muslims on the Occasion of Ramadan
U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday congratulated Muslims on the holy month of Ramadan.
"For the 1.5 billion Muslims, Ramadan is time of deep reflection, fasting and piety. This is also an opportunity for family and friends to get together and honor principles that unite people of different faith, commitment to peace, justice, equality and compassion for others. This Communication is much stronger than the differences that too often divide us," Obama said.
According to him, American Muslims are making a great contribution to the prosperity of the country, working in government, science, business and philanthropy.
The U.S. is home to 2.6 million Muslims - less than 1% of the population.
