Bayramov called the conditions "for the successful completion of the peace process"
Baku/27.06.23/Turan: As part of a working visit to the United States, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on June 27.
The parties discussed the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process, the prospects for negotiations on the draft bilateral agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the current situation in the region, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
Bayramov drew attention to the positions and approaches of Azerbaijan on the issues raised in the draft agreement. “It was noted that for the successful completion of the peace process, it is important to withdraw the Armenian armed forces from the Azerbaijani territories, which have not yet been fully withdrawn, to maintain territorial integrity and sovereignty both in words and in deeds,” the press release further says.
The bilateral meeting was followed by a trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia with the Secretary of State. The next round of talks between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place on June 29, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said further.
