Belgian Hendrik Dams becomes new PACE President
Strasbourg/27.01.20/Turan: On January 27, the first meeting of the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) 27 held the elections for the new president of this structure. On a non-alternative basis, Belgian Senator Hendrik Dams became the new head of PACE, the special correspondent of Turan reports from Strasbourg.
Dams has been the head of the Belgian delegation to PACE since 2007 and is part of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
Dams is a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights; Political Affairs and Democracy Committee: PACE Institutional Affairs Committee.
He was previously a member of the PACE Monitoring Committee.
As president of PACE, Dams was succeeded by Marie-Lilian Pascier from Switzerland. –0-
